Human Resources Generalist

The Holstein Association USA, Inc., the world’s largest dairy cattle breed organization, is a dynamic, innovative, growing organization located in Brattleboro, VT. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented Human Resources Generalist.

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources department including, but not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, benefit administration, employee relations, employee performance evaluations, payroll changes, maintaining personnel records and reports, and legal compliance.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five year’s work experience in Human Resources with up-to-date knowledge and understanding of employment practices and employee relations. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, extremely accurate, and have strong math skills. Candidates must be proficient working with HR databases and Microsoft Office. They must have excellent customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to adhere to strict confidentiality. The ability to work well with others in a team environment is a must.

Enterprise Systems Administrator

Holstein Association USA, Inc., the world's largest dairy cattle breed organization, is a dynamic, innovative, growing organization located in Brattleboro, Vermont. We are currently seeking an Enterprise Systems Administrator for our Information Services Department.

The Enterprise Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration, development, execution and documentation of the systems and any projects. This position is also responsible for installation, implementation, maintenance, and support of all enterprise system software and maintaining proper controls and backups to minimize the risk of downtime during system changes or failures. Responsibilities also include proposing recommendations for improvements to the operating environment through changes in software, hardware, and/or procedures. Availability for after hours on-call support a necessity.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field; minimum of four years of systems programming or systems administration experience; Unix/Linux and Windows operating system experience required;  VMWare/Hyper V virtual environment experience desired; familiarity with PC software and hardware and LAN/WANs desirable. The individual for this position must be a true team player with project planning experience, excellent verbal and written communications skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Full Stack Java+Javascript Developer

Holstein Association USA, Inc., the world's largest dairy cattle breed organization, is a dynamic, innovative, growing organization located in Brattleboro, Vermont. We are currently seeking Java Developers to join our Information Services Team.

As a Java Developer you will be responsible for analyzing user specifications and requirements that reflect the business needs and for delivering high-quality software solutions to meet those business needs. Qualified individuals will assist in design, development, testing, maintenance and modification of software programs according to specifications, as well as verifying logic, performing necessary debugging, and writing related documentation.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree; and a minimum of 5 years of related experience;
  • Extensive experience in Java and the Spring Boot Framework (Most Importantly RESTful web services, Spring Data (JDBC/JPA). Knowledge of the Spring MVC and Spring Cloud framework is a bonus;
  • Excellent knowledge of front end JavaScript technologies including React, Angular, Webpack, Node/NPM. Candidate should also be familiar the Bootstrap 3/4 CSS framework and CSS Preprocessor such as Less and SCSS;
  • Proven understanding of Relational Database Systems (Informix, Postgres), document stores (Mongo, Elasticsearch) and message brokers (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ);
  • Will have a working knowledge on the utilization of Linux platforms (RHEL/Atomic) and containerized systems (Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes/Cattle) while developing, building, and deploying applications;
  • Will be required to maintain existing legacy java infrastructure while implementing new projects in modern frameworks so a working knowledge of J2EE/JEE, Struts, Tomcat, HTTPD Gentoo, Ubuntu are a real bonus;
  • The proven ability to contribute to and thrive in a high-performing, motivated workgroup, by applying excellent interpersonal and collaborations skills to achieve project goals and realize value;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and time management skills a must.
